With just a week to go until the opening of Fresh: Cheltenham – the 6th fair since 2017 – we have a full programme of events at the fair that we’re sure you are going to enjoy. Come to Fresh: Art Fair Cheltenham to experience ART in three dimensions! From our outdoor Sculpture Park, to talks on History of Art and Art for Interiors, as well as numerous demonstrations from professional working artists whose work is also available to purchase at the fair.
Live Demonstrations from Contemporary Artists
Every year, artists come to show off their skills in the Fresh: Art Fair studios, and this year is no exception. Come to the fair to see demonstrations from 28-30 April by Robert Fogell (sculptor) who will be working in the outdoor sculpture park. Robert describes the process he will be using at the fair to show how his sculptures are created prior to casting:
“The plaster modelling technique shows the general process from conception to final sculptural outcome. A wire armature is created initially then several layers of Plaster of Paris and scrim are built up. The final layers can be shaped into the desired form using a number of modelling tools to control the process. (After this) The plaster originals can then be used to create the bronze finished works.”

So, What’s on at the Fair? A Quick Run-Down:
Private View – Thursday 27 April from 5.30PM
The Private View is always a highlight of Fresh: Art Fair. Our exhibiting galleries await the rush of visitors with fresh exhibition stands, loaded with the best artworks available for sale on the contemporary art market. You will of course find traditional artworks too, along with pieces by famous names, like Banksy, Emin, Hirst, Picasso, Braque, Riley, Hockney, Dali…the list goes on!
Our partners Bonhams will be present throughout the fair, including the opening night. Find their desk in the foyer, where they will be available to take enquiries about artworks you may wish to have valued or presented for sale at auction.
There won’t be talks or artist demonstrations at the Private View – it’s a busy event, with many artists also attending. So if you find that special piece you have been looking for forever, you may also have the opportunity to meet the artist who made it! Come to enjoy the ambience, the buzz around a wonderful presentation of artwork, and a glass of complimentary wine – included in your ticket.
Friday 28 April – Free Entry Day
It’s a great opportunity to attend free of charge – remember children under 16 are admitted free throughout the fair.

Art Historian Martin Bowden joins us to present a talk for you at 12.30PM. ‘Aspects of Landscape Painting’ should be one of our most popular talks yet, with a huge number of landscape and abstract paintings shown at the fair each year – we know that you feel most at home with reminders of nature and the natural world on your walls!
