Fresh: Art Fair Welcomes Visitors Back

After such a long break from our usual schedule of art fairs, Fresh: is pleased to welcome you back for a summer fair, from August 6-8 at The Centaur, Cheltenham Racecourse.  After the ‘Art Haitus’ we hope that you will be able to join us to share in the cultural buzz!   We are looking forwards to seeing a huge collection of high quality artworks in the Fresh: Art Fair space.

The Private View

Our Private View opens on August 5th from 5.30pm – 9pm click here to purchase tickets.  We offer complimentary wine at the PV, and this year a very special addition in the form of Alison Russell, silhouette artist who will be roaming the auditorium.  There will be no charge to visitors wishing to have a silhouette created by Alison, and we can’t wait to see what our own silhouettes will look like!

Sculpture Park

The much-loved sculpture park returns to Fresh: this year! Browse to your heart’s content in this outdoor space, just a short walk from the main exhibition in the Centaur Building and main car park.  Indoor sculptures will also be available to purchase on gallery stands inside.  Artist blacksmith, Simon Bushell will also be working all day everyday in the Sculpture Park.

The Galleries

Many of the art galleries attending Fresh: this August include returning gallerists – friends we have missed in 2020.  We also welcome new exhibitors, including Alison Eldred (Cheltenham), Bradford Gallery (Bradford-on-Avon), China Impressions (London), Darl-e and the Bear (Woodstock). At Fresh: you can expect to browse around 5,000 works of art, all by leading contemporary artists.

There will also be a new addition to our exhibition this year as RRA Architects sponsor a brand new stand!  ‘Fresh@Fresh’ will showcase work by talented emerging artists, introducing them into the contemporary art space.

The Artists

We are always delighted to see such a huge display of exceptional talent at Fresh:  This year,  Hidden Gallery will be bringing a range of famous names, such as Banksy, Hockney, Riley, Matisse, Picasso, Miro and we can’t wait to see what they have to offer.

Artist Demonstrations

This year, only one artist’s studio will operate, with a programme of artist demonstrations in the morning and afternoon.  The names of artists involved will be released soon!  This  Artist Studio will be on the balcony in the main auditorium.  We are also delighted to have an artist blacksmith, Simon Bushell working all day everyday in the Sculpture Park!

How we are looking after you

For this year’s Fresh: Art Fair, we will be working closely with Cheltenham Racecourse management teams to ensure that your safety is top priority.  There will be well stocked hand gel stations at the entrance, and perspex screens in place at reception.    Visitors will follow a one way system which is marked on the floor.  At this year’s Fresh: there will not be any exhibitor stands on the balcony, only the main ground floor exhibition space.  Talks will be held in a separate area of the building, near to the Istabraq Cafe, and away from the main exhibition.

Eating & Drinking

The Istabraq cafe (upstairs in The Centaur Building) will serve the usual coffees, teas, and lunches. This is a licensed bar, so you can also enjoy a glass of wine or beer with your lunch if you wish.  In addition, there will be a takeaway service, enabling visitors to take refreshments to the grandstand seating in the main auditorium.

For Families

Fresh: Art Fair is being held in the school holidays this year, so what will we be doing differently?   We will have a face painter and a balloon artist both operating from 12.00 to 3.00 each day, free of charge to visitors.  We always offer a children’s quiz game, which will be available again this year too!

We very much look forwards to seeing you at Fresh: Art Fair this August!
