Visitors to Fresh: Ascot on Saturday 21st September can look forward to meeting not one but TWO demonstrating artists in Studio 2…

First up is Louise Luton, showing with The Wey Gallery. Louise creates expressive paintings on natural linen inspired by her love for nature. Her intuitive understanding of colour and acute sensitivity to the character of oil paint will inspire any art lover.

Each animal Louise paints is imbued with character and nobility; her celebration of British and international wildlife is irresistible. Every canvas is poised with the tension of nature, the fleeting splendour of the moment. She will be working in Studio 2 from 11am – 2pm.

“Headgear (Geevor Mine, Pendeen” by Steven Buckler, Art World Gallery

“Headgear (Geevor Mine, Pendeen” by Steven Buckler, Art World Gallery

Following hot on Louise’s heels at 3pm is Steven Buckler, represented by Art World Gallery. Born in 1971, Steven was raised in Cornwall and Devon before training as an animator. After a career in illustration and children’s television he chose to split his time between art and teaching following the birth of his first child.

We adore his fluid mastery of light and landscape, and his restless determination to explore the potential of different media and materials. Rather than seeking subjects that suit a particular style, Steven prefers to let the process guide the work. He explores the detail in his chosen image through sketching with pencil, ink, paint, charcoal – or very often a combination of all the above. This is landscape art at its most primal and heartfelt. Watching one of his pictures emerge is a hypnotic, almost magical process and we encourage all our visitors to take the time to drop by! He will be demonstrating from 3 – 6pm, also in Studio 2.
