Meet acclaimed artist Kev Munday at Fresh: Ascot!

Positive, vibrant, life affirming and above all joyous, we just love the artwork of Kev Munday here at Fresh: and we can’t wait to welcome him as the demonstrating artist for the Private View on Thursday 19th September!

Drawing on diverse visual traditions such as Japanese Kawaii graphics and Huichol yarn paintings from Mexico, Munday has evolved a unique vocabulary of images that exaggerates and celebrates the small wonders of daily life. Each artwork encourages viewers of all ages and backgrounds to smile and ponder at the same time. A wide range of media including acrylic markers, spray paint, ink and brushes goes into the creation of these hypnotic pictures and visitors to Fresh: can watch the magical process unfold before their very eyes.

Munday’s first forays into painting came in the form of street art at the age of sixteen. Since then he has undertaken commissions for Disney, Graham & Brown wallpaper, Artfinder and Uni-Ball, to name but a few patrons. In 2016 he was named by The Telegraph as one of five British artists to invest in, and recent press features include BBC News, Metro, The Big Issue and London Live.

His first international solo exhibition was held in 2017 with Vintage Deluxe in Maastricht, the Netherlands, followed in 2018 by an Arts Council funded exhibition at Showcase Gallery in Southampton. His piece “Family” was recently selected for the Royal Academy’s Summer Exhibition in 2019. Further recent projects include a fifteen-metre mural in Dusseldorf, live painting in Amsterdam, a pop-up exhibition in an elevator and a hand-painted police car for his local constabulary.

Don’t miss this opportunity to see one of the most exciting artists in the UK at work; book your tickets now! Munday will be represented at Fresh: by Forest Gallery.
